Rowans Hydro Warriors
My name is Rowan and I am 3 years old. I am a Patient Champion! This year will be my third time walking at the annual Walk for Children’s.
I am walking to make a difference for myself and my family, and to bring awareness to those living with Hydrocephalus.
I have a diagnosis of Macrocephaly and Hydrocephalus, both of which I was diagnosed with after birth at just three and a half months old. After being diagnosed and going through lots of testing, the only option left was to have brain surgery. I had a shunt surgically implanted on my brain to allow the extra fluid to drain appropriately. This helps to reduce extra pressure on my brain. My parents and I were frequently at CHP during this time, especially on the neurosurgery floor- which we can’t speak highly enough of. When we visit CHP, everyone is always so friendly, kind and helpful. It makes the visits a lot more smooth and less nerve racking. This hospital means a lot to me and my family because they are the ones who saved my life.
Please help me in donating to this amazing hospital! And to raise money to help find a cure and end brain surgery’s!
