Welcome to Lane Lacey's Personal Page
On December 11th, 2024, Lane made his way into the world a month early.
When Lane was delivered, the doctors realized that he was struggling to breathe and was quickly taken to the NICU in St. Clair, where he was placed on several monitors and placed on high flow oxygen.
After an hour, he did not show much improvement, in which the doctors decided to transfer him to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he was admitted to their Level 4 NICU for just short of 3 months.
In those three months, Lane was intubated and on a ventilator twice, given surfactant twice, diagnosed with an Intraventricular Hemorrhage and two congenital heart defects.
After being on continuous invasive respiratory support for nearly 3 months, Lane came home on supplemental oxygen and follows closely with Pulmonology and Cardiology.
Current to date, Lane is free from any respiratory support and has been diagnosed with a childhood interstitial lung disease.
Because of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Lane is still here today and thriving after not knowing if he would make it through that first night.
