I am participating in Walk for Children’s presented by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan not just to support a cause—but because it’s personal.

My name is Dara, and I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. There was a time when I spent months in UPMC Children’s Hospital, facing some of the hardest moments of my life. Those days were filled with uncertainty, pain, and exhaustion—but also with incredible doctors, nurses, and caregivers who never stopped fighting for me.

Today, I’m healthy, and I’m beyond grateful. Now, I want to give back and be part of something bigger—helping kids who are in the same place I once was.

I’ll be joining thousands in my community and around the world to support pediatric healthcare for children and families in need. This walk represents hope, healing, and a future for kids who are still fighting their battles.
