Welcome to "Team Millie"
I am participating in Walk for Children’s presented by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan because I want to help revolutionize children's health.
In October of 2024 we became parents to a beautiful babygirl. But this looked a little different than most. We spent more time at children’s than we did at home. We had many sleepless nights. Many tears were shed. Endless fear of what we knew one day would come. But Millie was a fighter from day one and we got to spend 9 amazing months with her. While Millie was in the hospital on hospice, our second daughter was born 5 weeks early. We had our second daughter transferred to UPMC Children's so they could be in the same hospital. But the incredible & thoughtful nursing staff put our beautiful girls into a double room in the NICU so our family could be together for our daughter's final days.
Children's offered us endless support, with both the beginning and end of life for our girls. There will never be enough thank you's for the staff, the nurses, & the support not only in the hospital but afterwards.
We ask that you walk with us today to support this incredible hospital that cares for not only children, but families in need.
I will be joining thousands of others in my community and across the world in the fight to power the advanced care that can change a child's life.
