Walking for the Friends of the Hearing Center
Lauren, Sarah, and Jeannine running the FOTHC Free Book Fair!
The Friends of the Hearing Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh raises money for programs that support the goal of long-term independence for children with hearing loss. Donations enable children with hearing loss to have access to the resources and support they need. All Hearing Center programs are funded entirely by donations and fundraising.
While the FOTHC has many incredible programs (Language Therapy Bags, Cheers for Ears, Retention Solutions, etc.), my personal passion is with the literacy initiative. Fundraising allows us to have a completely free book fair for children at our annual Walk-Picnic event where every book has a character that is deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind. I'm a firm believer that representation matters and that literacy is a lifeskill. Please consider registering to join us at North Park, walking virtually from wherever you are, or just donating whatever you can to support this incredible mission!
