Welcome to The Alligators
We choose to fundraise for the Walk for Children’s in honor of our almost 12 year old daughter, Astor. When I was pregnant, we knew that there may be some concerns due to poor fetal growth and size, but we elected to have a closely monitored pregnancy and scheduled an induction with Maternal Fetal Medicine with the NICU on standby, and then determine cause. Within a few weeks of birth we had a diagnosis and found out the odds of a live birth were a mere 1-2%. She spent the first 76 days of her life between Magee Women’s Hospital, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and The Children’s Home. We have seen 11 different specialty clinics, has had as many as 5 therapies per week, and 10 surgeries. I owe a great deal of her success to the staff at Children’s and will continue to be eternally grateful for her care. Astor may have chronic health concerns and a lifetime of different needs, but she is a vibrant, joyful, and hilarious little girl.
I could not do this without your support!
Community fundraising helps Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC provide hope and healing to sick kids and families. Your support can help Children’s Hospital continue to be a leader in pediatric health care – advancing research of childhood conditions and diseases, and developing new and improved therapies.
You can help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation on my fundraising page.
Thank you for your support as we Walk for Children’s!
