Welcome to Austin Strong!
In October 2024, at just 7 months old, Austin was diagnosed with a rare cancer: Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, also known as LCH. We were absolutely blindsided by his diagnosis, as he had been meeting all developmental milestone and never showed any outward signs of sickness. We noticed a slight swelling behind his left ear, which with the help of the CHP, we learned was the primary site of his cancer.
Austin is 1 in 200,000 children who will be diagnosed with LCH. There is no genetic predisposition. He does have a gene mutation that complicates things a little more, but because of his team at Children’s, we’re working to learn more about this and how to fight.
Please join us to support Austin and all the other children who just want to be kids, fight a fight they don’t deserve.
