I'm also joining this team and walking for a personal reason. Our family experience with Children's Hospital has been excellent. Our daughter Chloe was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in December of 2020 - and had surgery at CHP the day after she turned 18 - February of 2021. We celebrated her birthday at CHP with flowers, post-op jello, and the remarkable care from staff. 

The care and compassion that she received, and the support of family, friends, and coworkers at UPMC helped us through a stressful and worrisome time. 

Thanks to the great care she received, Chloe is thriving. She is on lifelong medication to regulate the lack of her thyroid. She's in her final year at Penn State University - and her determination, humor, and grace are unstoppable. She is graduating in May and we can't wait to see what she does next!
