Every child deserves the chance to just be a kid. But for kids who are sick or injured, hospital visits and treatments can take time away from the activities that make being a kid so special. That’s why I’m fundraising for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC – so that I can Give Kids A Chance To Be Kids!

Masen was diagnosed with Pompe Disease via the newborn screening.  Although he has the late onset of this disease we want to bring awareness to this genetic disorder and information to everyone around. Had he not been tested through the newborn screening we may have not known about this disorder at all. This will be a learning experience for our family and I feel a deep need to make not only genetic disorders but diseases children struggle with everyday to the attention of everyone.
