I am walking on behalf of Aurora Daum who was born with microtia.
Microtia & Aural Atresia are rare congenital anomalies affecting an estimated 663 babies born each year in the United States. Microtia occurs when the outer ears are missing or do not fully develop during the 1st trimester of pregnancy. Aural Atresia occurs when the ear canals are underdeveloped or missing, resulting in hearing loss.

I am participating in Walk for Children’s presented by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan because I want to make a difference for sick kids and their families.
I will be joining thousands of others in my community and across the world in support of a movement to advance pediatric health care for kids and families in need.
