Welcome to Braelynn's Hippie Warriors!
I am participating in Walk for Children’s presented by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan because I want to make a difference for sick kids and their families. I will be joining thousands of others in my community and across the world in support of a movement to advance pediatric health care for kids and families in need
When I was 16 years old, I spent 2 months at Children’s after a car accidnent. I can still remember my nurses names, and even remain in contact with some (almost 13 years later)! Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh has some of the most caring staff I have ever met in my life.
Not only was I a patient at Children’s, but my daughter Braelynn has been a patient since shortly after she was born. Braelynn was diagnosed with DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip) shortly after birth. This required her to have surgery at just 3 months of age. She was then placed in a spica cast for 3 months. The staff, from doctors to nurses to dietary, were extraordinary during our stay and all regular visits. Not only is this walk for an amazing cause, but June is also HIP DYSPLASIA AWARENESS MONTH!! What are the odds?! So join me as we work to raise money for this amazing hospital and help us personally bring awareness to our Hippie Warriors!
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation to my page. You, too, can help provide hope, healing, and healthier tomorrows for the brave kids at UPMC Children’s Hospital.
Thank you for your support as I Walk for Children’s!
